Issue 7 - Imaginate Children's Festival, Big Machinery Weekend, Peppa Pig and much more...
Hi again! I’m really enjoying sharing the fruits of my Googling with you all so I hope this newsletter is helping you to discover new things to try. If you have any events you’d like to share, send me a wee message and I'll take a look. Meanwhile, this week is jam packed with amazing stuff to do with the kids so definitely no excuses to sit at home.
Saturday 25th
🐷 Piglets and Pancakes Breakfast 09.00-11.00
📍 Edinburgh Zoo, Corstorphine
For any super fans of Peppa Pig, here’s a chance to get your photo taken with her and George before tucking into some pancakes. We went to the Bluey one of these and even though it felt eye-wateringly expensive for breakfast, my daughter and her friend still talk about it so it was (kind of) worth it. What we discovered too late was that Bluey and Bingo would be wandering round the zoo for the day anyway and the same applies here with Peppa and George. So if you’d like to save some cash, here are details of when you can see them over the day for the cost of your usual zoo ticket.
🐅 If two adults dressed as giant pigs weren’t enough, there's also a Brick Safari running from the 24th May - 31st July, where there will be a trail all around the zoo featuring animals made out of bricks.
🐧 Final point about the zoo this week, I promise - I mentioned last week that penguin chicks have hatched - we managed to see them at the weekend and they’re as adorable as you’d imagine. Their webcam is back online now if you want a sneak peek.
🧸 Teddy Bear Adventure 10.00 - 12.00 🆓

Kicking off the Edinburgh International Children’s Festival (25th May - 2nd June), the museum is the place to be on Saturday where there will be performances, workshops and interactive play sessions all day. Check out the schedule here - it looks incredible, with stuff to entertain all ages. How lucky are we top be able to attend something like this for zero pennies? Well done, Edinburgh!

Part of the Falastin Film Festival, this family day aims to bring Palestinian art to Edinburgh though book readings, storytelling and crafts. Check out the website for details of specific sessions throughout the day and arrive at least 15 mins beforehand to secure a spot.
🚜 Big Machinery Weekend
📍 Craigies Farm, Queensferry
Running on Saturday too with a different schedule, this is set to be a weekend of barrel train rides, farming demonstrations and of course a showcase of big machines like tractors. Tickets are limited but there are spaces from lunchtime onwards on both days as I type.
🩰 Northern Ballet: Tortoise and the Hare 14.00 / 16.00

The Northern Ballet are performing the classic tale twice over the day and there are a few tickets left. So if you have any budding ballet dancers in the house and are looking for a pay day treat, why not head along for some kid friendly culture.
